 “Tango Djing is an art of touching hearts with music. I'm trying to make people feel the rhythm in their hearts and bodies, drive their feelings into a new dimension and watch their journey to this new world.

When you are dancing, you are not yourself anymore (or you shouldn't be). You are the music. You are the warmth of the embrace. You are your partner. And the floor under your feet is not the earth anymore... So my biggest and primary intention as a DJ is to make people dance. Not to restrict them with the floor, but to show them the door which opens to this new existence…”

 DJ Mengi is one of the most popular tango DJs in Turkey. He starting working on tango music, as soon as he started to dancing in 2011, with inspiration and help of his friend Dj Dark-oh. He had more than ten workshops and private classes with maestro dj Ali Işıklı, mostly on tango music history, djing, musicality etc. He eventually widened his research in tango music with the precious help and mentorship of Dj Ramo. Other djs which influenced his knowledge and style by lectures, workshops and private lessons are: Marcelo Rojas, Ramo&Gogo, Tanju Yıldırım, Esteban Moreno, Murat Erdemsel.

He plays music at regular milongas and events in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa and Eskisehir and he also has international DJ experience at various tango events, including Washington D.C., Brussels, Cyprus, Stockholm, Kiev, Moscow, Istanbul…
